At work... I always blog really late at night, so since I've been super tired lately and not really writing much, I'm now doing a blog at work. Today was actually a really good day at work. I was reading a letter from Sharon a little while ago, and she was writing it in her class and saying how she hated that calc class and wished that they could just have a worship session right there and then. You know, break out the drums, the guitars, the music and just worship. I was thinking that'd be so sweet at work too. So today, I finished my work with clients really early again (around 1) and then I had the rest of the day to do more mindless work. Just so happens that this morning, my brother gave me his CD case so I popped in a couple CDs to listen to while I worked. It totally made the day speed by. Started with a "set" of worship from Worship Together. Heard a sermon from the 722 series. Another worship set and another sermon followed by some quiet prayer time during my break, and that totally made my day. I heard a really good sermon from 722 (September 18, 2001 - Louie Giglio - Passion Check) just challenging us Christians to be passionate and to really show our passion instead of trying to hide it or being afraid or ashamed of it. When we invite our friends to church, we may feel self concious or ashamed during worship to lift our hands in front of our non-christian buddy, or maybe cry in worship, or pray loudly and boldly. But think about it. When our non-christian friends invite us out to a bar or club, they're not ashamed to act the way they are. They're not ashamed to intake a keg of alcohol, say stupid stuff and do stupid things, crawl out of the bar drunk, puke outside on the curb and make a complete fool out of themselves. Should we not worship our God fully and passionately without trying to hide or blanket our normal actions?! Anyways, really love worshipping God in my workplace. I praise Him for giving me an oppurtunity to really spend some good quality time in worship today in my cubicle. For breaking me and nearly bringing me to tears as I go about my daily work routines. Side note: Anyone know if is there something in the ESA that's against working 7 days straight full time including through a national holiday?! (Em, I'm lookin' at you!) Let me know, thanks! Have a great day. posted by jamescl | 5:14 PM
