My day... [blogged on Friday nite] Interesting day. Last nite, after blogging, I had a very very diffcult night. Just struggled a lot with something, and ended up only getting about 2 and a half hours of sleep. Woke up today at 6 something to go to work because my dad was driving me. So I got to work an hour early and ended up wandering around Kensingtown Market for a little bit. It's so neat with all these little fruit stands setting up, little coffee places with crowds of people gathering to watch the World Cup games. It's kind of ghetto and really reminded me of "dai pai dong" (Chinese market) back in Hong-Kong. I really miss that. Anyways, after that I ended up wandering to the bar next to my office building, and there was so much noise and so packed in there, at 7:45 in the morning! I went in and there was like no room at all, people were everywhere. It was divided one side for England and one side for Argentina (for the World Cup game.) I finally found a stool on the England side and ordered a light breakfast and watched the game. When Beckham scored on the penalty shot, they went wild!! Oh my, the people are crazy!!! Painted in blue and white, or red and white, draped in flags, and only flags, and running around DRUNK at 7 in the morning. Absolutely hilarious. Long day at work today. But a cool thing happened. One of my coworkers and I were having a "watercooler conversation" and he just suddenly asked if I was a Christian. Completely out of the blue. Very cool. Had a very interesting talk with him about Christianity after that. Turns out he's really against Christianity and he thought that all people in business/commerce would feel same way (discussed some issues like Protestant Work Ethic and the whole corrupt church back when it was used as a source of power for commerce purposes.) Maybe God will bring something out of it?!. Anyways, misc. thoughts: 1) Read Lyd's blog today, I like. 2) Got to talk to Geoff today. Very happy. You the man superstar! 3) Really appreciate Kar's friendship. Thanks for bein' such a sweetheart. I'll miss you while you're gone, Planters. 4) Jon, you the man. Thanks for your support and prayers and encouragement. 5) Happy Birthday Lil!!!! May He continue to bless and use you in this upcoming year. Anyways, gotta go sleep so I can get up at 7 to meet up with Kar for breakfast, then off to Wonderland tommorrow with the YSM kiddies. I'll let you know how that goes later. And I'll blog about the whole "can boys/girls be just friends and only friends?" a little later on Lyds. Nite. posted by jamescl | 12:59 AM
