Lately.... Lately, I've been really occupied with so many things. I know, I know, it's no excuse not to blog, but yea, seems like a lot of people are updating with less frequency now. I wonder why it is so. Maybe because we're all so busy in the summer with our own agendas; I know I'm guilty of that. But nonetheless... This past week was a softball-filled weekend (surprise, surprise.) By the way, I apologize in advance for boring so many of you with my softball tales. But seriously, it's like the only "fun" I get this summer, since my weekdays are usually spent working for many, many hours and my weekends are all devoted to softball. Anyways, we had our playoffs this weekend and our first game was on Saturday morning against MCBC Beloved. If you win, you move on; you lose, you're out. We ended up winning both our games on Saturday, but the surprising thing was both teams had a lot of fun. Both our games that day was very spirited and we had tons of great fans come out to our games. I'd specially like to thank Henson, Grace, Shar, Pino, Sue for coming out to so many of our games, and also to Lyds n' Rich for making an appearance from the wild, wild east as well! We really appreciated support and it was great seeing people come out and sit behind our bench to cheer us on. After our two games on Saturday, we had a bbq at the park where the Lumas, Knights, Lions and some Capstones members had BBQ with us until it got too dark to see. We went out for Chinese desserts after and went home exhausted to sleep. On Sunday, we all went to church as a team, and saw Albert get baptized. It's amazing to see how God can really change people and especially after listening to his testimony. Very cool. Afterwards, we all headed out to our game against Spirit Jr. (my old team from last year.) It was a really fun game and both teams were a lot of fun, and in the end they came out on top. We still had a lot of fun, and it was a great time of fellowship. To my team (cause I know quite a few of you read this): you guys played like warriors and superstars out there. You people had injured legs, tendanitis on the shoulder, bruised ribs, bruises on the face, cut open wounds with blood coming out of your palms, slabs of skin missing from your shins, ankles the size of softballs after swelling. Yet I saw these same people diving headfirst for balls on gravel, sliding into every base, taking balls in the face and kneecaps to stop them, diving into fences, running their hearts out for each play, and never giving up. We had a girl carried off the field because she couldn't walk off the field after an injury, but she refused to be benched and played the next inning limping. We had three guys come up to me after an inning with blood over their jerseys and palms, telling me not to take them off. There was so much blood on the game ball at the end of the game that it was a pinkish colour. You guys played like warriors and you played your hearts out that game, and you had fun doing it. You guys are awesome, both in spirit and in talent, and thank you for making our season so much fun this year. posted by jamescl | 8:13 PM
