Relationships... As you can probably tell, relationships are one of my fave blogging topics. In my human resource classes, we learn that most leaders are task-oriented or people-oriented (or good leaders, both.) I'm a pretty people-oriented person, so naturally, most of my blogs involve people, friends, things that happened with other people, etc. This past while, I think I've constantly debated about whether to start dating again or not. For those of you that don't really know, I haven't dated in almost 3 years, since I used to be quite immature in my high school dating. I've learned a lot from that, and I kind of vowed that I wouldn't date until I'm really mature about it. So here I am, almost 3 years later, still unsure of whether or not to date. So many times, I've really missed having a significant other, and really really wanted one. I see all my buddies dating, and some of my friends are engaged or even getting married soon. I went out for dinner with my parents tonight, and they kept pestering me with questions about dating, and talking about my brother dating, and asking when I would have a girlfriend, etc. I've also been talking to Carny about this topic too and we're both kind of going through the same thing, so it's cool to have a buddy who understands what you're going through. The new "in-thing" that I find with a lot of my friends is "checking." From what I hear it to be, it's when two people are semi-interested and spend a lot of time together and so on, but aren't dating (yet.) I think I've gone through my share of those. (Maybe even right now?!) Anyways, this is all just random babbling. Any thoughts? posted by jamescl | 9:09 PM
