Weekend Notes...

Another routing Thursday/Friday combo of work and more work, but not so much studying. I've been getting really lazy studying this past week because of my distractions. It's something I really need to work on, focus. To focus on what is important and to tune out things that aren't.

Anyways, Friday's CCF program was a good conversation about the Iraq/US "problem." It was definately good to hear other opinions on this matter, and to get myself thinking about this topic again. Went out for dinner, then a movie afterwards. We went to see Ghost Ship, because it was the only movie still playing at 11:00, and oh my goodness, it was so freakin' bad!! Please do not go waste your money to go see this, unless you have too much money or like really bad, bad "horror" movies (such as The 13th Ghost, haha.)

Saturday was good. Why? Because I slept in 'till 1 in the afternoon. And I went to sleep early Friday night too!! That just totally felt good!! Went out to lunch with my parents, and it's been kind of weird going out with them to eat so much without my brother. I find we always have weird conversations now, and usually if I have Justin there, we can talk about stuff while they talk sometimes, but now, it's kind of different 'cause he's not there. Weird stuff.

Went to go play ball hockey in this new league I'm thinking of joining at UT, and it was really fun. I haven't gotten to do sports in such a long time, so it was good to just play again. Stayed downtown and chilled with Geoff for a while, and we reminisced about old times, walking through our old hangouts, eating our old foods, shopping in our old shops, etc. Kind of cheesy, but oh well. Dropped by Kenneth's birthday party (happy birthday dude!) where they had hot pot, and me and a couple guys watched the Leafs lose yet another close game, due to stupid defensive errors. My goodness, I'm starting to get really pissed off at these lousy Leafs!!!

After the party, my buddy picked me up and went to Buffalo for some night party, and that was a lot of fun. He's the one with the screens (yes, screens, not screen, he has one for the front, and I found out also, he has one for the back as well!!) so we watched movies in his car all the way down, partied and then came back. It was pretty fun, and we met a lot of his boys from down in the States, so that was cool. Got back really late, but it's a good thing I had the extra hour of daylight savings time, 'cause I really needed it. Church today was okay too, nothing too special or enlightening about the sermon. Was our last week on a series on prayer, so we actually spent a lot of time just in personal meditation so that was good. My prayer for this next while is just this:

Lord Jesus,

Grant me the will to follow You wholly,
the strength to follow when I am weak,
the persistence when times are rough,
the compassion when people are cruel,
the wisdom when I am lost,
the integrity when I am tempted,
the humility when I am proud.

I need you,
I want you,
I love Your presence,
for it is a presence,
that no one else,
and nothing else,
can fill.
