War... No profound words, I have. Try to understand and analyze the conflict, I will. But cure and heal the nations, I cannot. What can I do and how does this war affect me? I can only try to empathize with the average family of four in Baghdad, huddled in their tiny basement as F-117As hover overhead, dropping bombs every few minutes and causing the earth around them to tremble. I don't know quite what to make of this war. It seems like everywhere I go, everyone I talk to, every class I attend, it's about the war. I've heard so many different theories and rants, so much patriotism and hatred, and certainly the fair share of stupidity and confusion. Personally, my thoughts are with the people, because with every dropped bomb is a wounded civilian, with every national speech is a lost and hurt Iraqi soul, and with every day of chaos that passes by is another millions of ordinary civilian lives affected. I know they teach me to look at the macro point of view and to see the bigger picture, but I believe it's important to focus on the micro things as well. People no different from you and I are going through hell, while we sit here reading CNN and proclaiming what a shame war is. My thoughts and prayers are with the Iraqi people. May God bless and watch over each and every one of you. "I love America. Unfortunately, I love Iraq too, so I'm against war at all costs." - Steve Nash, Dallas Mavericks posted by jamescl | 11:53 PM
