Summer Tan... Along with every good comes a bad, and along with the warm summer sun that translates into fun is no exception. A couple weeks into summer and it appears as if I'm an overdone burnt toast, fresh out of the toaster. It seems every summer I can't escape this darkening curse, and 2 days into June, this summer is definitely no exception. In the winter I'm asked if I'm Korean and by the end of summer, I'm asked if I'm Phillipino. When I returned to work this past week, my co-workers were envious that I'd been travelling off to the sunny shores of the Bahamas and Hawaii. I can't really blame them; I guess I'd be jealous too if I'd been there. It seems every year I try harder and harder to not tan by slabbing on more and more sunscreen, covering up sleeves, and this year, wearing a hat when outdoors. I guess it's like SARS: no matter how much you try to avoid it, you can't unless you stay isolated indoors with no windows and no ventilation. I really can't understand those people that would risk cancer to get into a tanning machine just to appear darker. Motto of the day: ...ok, there really was no point to this blog, so my motto is um..don't tan. Ever. posted by jamescl | 7:07 PM
