NTCS...
So after my short visit to the doctor's, I randomly decided to swing by North Toronto Christian School, my old elementary school. It was really close by and seeing as how I hadn't been back in 10 years (literally - since grade 6), I decided to see how it was. I grew up there as a kid, a ton of my close friends are from there as well as some of my most influential teachers. That private Christian school definitely helped to shape me into who I am today. Driving into the parking lot was complete nostalgia. Walking through those old halls, seeing the backpacks littered on the floor after school, the line-ups at the kitchen, watching little kids whipping oversized dodgeballs, kids playing in the playground, traditional games of tag, observing the card trading on the floors, looking at bristol boards displaying class work outside, peeping into old classrooms, and so much more. I looked at each classroom door and saw each of the teachers' names. The only one I recognized was my grade 3 teacher, Mrs. Gray. That is, until I reached my last door. The door that I had wanted to visit for a long time. My favourite teacher in the world, the one that I would actually stay after school with so I could chill with her. She'd joke around with me, help me with work, exposed me to Lindt chocolate, had this awesome smile, and was/is absolutely the best teacher I've ever had. My grade 5 teacher, Mrs. Wronski. I was so happy her name was still hanging on that same grade 5 classroom door, that I had sat at 11 years ago. I went in and she was in the middle of working with her kids, but we chatted for a while, and it was definitely good times. I miss the good ol' days. posted by jamescl | 10:18 PM
