Tired of Tires...

Friday started off as any other day. Woke up at 7:30 in an attempt to get to the library and hide away at Stauffer, plus move my car to avoid a parking ticket. About 15 seconds in the car, and I knew that I had a flat. I pulled over and proceeded to change my tire. As I went to go get the spare that was in my trunk, I noticed that it wasn't budging as I went to move it. After further examination, I realized that the bottom of the tire (at least an inch or two) was completely frozen in my trunk and was unmovable. I spent the next two hours in the freezing sub-zero Kingston temperature chipping away at this huge block of ice, until my fingers were too numb to hold the crowbar anymore. I decided to run in to my friends' place to try to get some hot water.

To add insult to injury, when I returned with some semi-hot-but-already-cooled-down-in-the-cold water, I realized that I had gotten a parking ticket, despite my big sign stating that I was missing a tire and the fact that my car was lopsided on a jack and indeed, missing a tire. What a great way to start the morning eh? To make an extremely long story short, I ended up pouring hot water (numerous times) to try to melt it, trying to get spares, unable to take off the tires and eventually having friends drive the tire to Speedy, where they inflated my tire for me again. We must have looked really stupid in the freezing cold for most of the day, with a car with no wheels parked in a restricted zone, and ultimately, pouring windshield washer fluid (in an attempt to melt the ice) into my trunk.

All in all, an absolutely crazy day, but without my friends, I would have been royally screwed. So thanks for making my day semi-interesting and helping me out with my frozen tire. =)
