Urbana... ![]() I want to give You everything... I want Your sovereign reign in me... From Dec. 26 until Dec. 31, I went to Urbana near Chicago for an unbelievable missions conference. And let me tell you, God was there. The question everyone asks me is "How does this Urbana compare to the last one?" I suppose this one was a lot less emotional - I didn't feel like a high while worshipping or incredibly moved by the Spirit as I did the first one. But God still spoke volumes there. I could tell you about how He broke me, taught me to give Him everything, how He told me He wanted - no, demanded - my life. I could write about my amazing bond with my small groups (great times of prayer and accountability), about how He brought my heart back to where He demanded it be. I could write about some of the amazing relationships that were built and grown, some of the great times and funny stories that occured (butter balls and Korean food). But I think amidst the 20,000 worshippers, the famous speakers, the amazing seminar leaders, the great brothers and sisters met all over, and all the Urbana "hype", where God spoke to me most was in solitude. My single greatest calling came during a walk from the assembly hall back to my residence. Passing the graveyard, He told that following my own dreams and ambitions would lead to death but following Him would lead to life and blessing. There was no other choice. All I could do was whisper "Jesus, all for Jesus. All my hopes, ambitions and dreams, I surrender them to You." The Lord is so faithful and so, so good. posted by jamescl | 7:27 PM
