McNotes... I decided to drop by the mall in between my studying today to get some excercise in, since it was raining outside. Of course, as I walked in through the Wal-Mart entrance, the smart marketers at McDs had the irresistable smell of burning french fries fuming in the air. Drawn to it like a hypnotized dog to a bone, I went into McDs only to discover it was a special kids hour for the week. It was $2 happy meals for kids and free coffee for parents. Not too shabby, so since I hadn't had McDs since my last Queens visit (which is coincidentally the only time I have it), I decided to stop by inside and pick up one of these ridiculously cheap meals. As I requested a happy meal (which I swear is the first time in my consious life that I have ordered one), the manager raises an eyebrow and asks if I'm really 12 years old. Before I can answer, he remarks that I'm probably close enough and gives me a happy meal. I don't look like I'm 12 do I?? I was dressed bum from studying, but com'on - 12 years old?! Speaking of McNotes, anyone try out the new McCafe yet?! It's supposed to be McDonalds' answer to Starbucks by trying to steal market share of the gourmet coffee industry since no one is buying there high-fat, cholesterol-raising, heart-attack-inducing, blood-clotting burgers and extra-super-supersized fries anymore. They sell tiramisu and expresso in a nice comfortable atmosphere supposedly. I'm interested in seeing the health facts for what they serve. Somehow, I'm sure they'll manage to get in an unhealthy-near-deathly dose of saturated fats and calories. Or they'll manage to invent, coin and make popular some sort of new fat, much like the trans-fat they helped to make popular. I swear I'm not bitter at McDs.
