Go With The Flow... So I was driving to work this morning around 8 o'clock and traffic was flowing and I was just kind of bored. Didn't really want to wake anyone up in the morning to chat with me so I decided to call in to Flow 93.5 and see if I could enter a contest or something. My cell phone has this feature that continuously redials busy signals and then beeps to notify you when they've gotten through. So I punched in the digits and let the phone do all the work for me as I drove to work. A couple minutes later, I actually got a couple beeps and checked my phone. It was actually dialing! This happens sometimes and a lot of the time, nobody picks up. But after two rings, DJ Strong picked up and began a lively conversation with me! It was actually tape delayed so I couldn't hear myself on the radio as I was talking to him over the phone. So I asked him if there were any contests or games that I could play to win something and he said that I was on "the game with no name." Pretty much, I was given 4 questions and all the answers rhymed with a certain word. So today's word was rapper. First question was something like: this is the name of a fish. Snapper, I replied correctly. I forget what the next one was but I got it right too. The third one was really weird. It was something like "someone who dresses really nice" and I had no idea and thought I was dead for sure. I blurted something really fast that resembled "bapper", whatever that is. To my surprise, the DJs said "YES!!" and played their audience-cheering button on their sound board. The last one was a weird one that I had no idea and paused a long time to think. There was no way I was going to get it. But Strong was pretty nice and gave me a hint and said, "it's also part of goalie equipment" so I got trapper easily. When I actually heard it on the air, they edited out the hint I got and all the pauses (or at least shortened it) so it sounded like I got all the answers bang bang bang. I ended up winning some DVDs or something (Tupac Resurection?) and entered into a weekly draw to win a trip for two to Barbados. I hope I win the trip!! Anyways, that's my story of the day, goodnite and happy Canada's day! Moral of the story is to enter as many contests as you can and try to win as much free stuff as you can.
