Blast from the Past... I was skimming over Vida's blog that I hadn't visited in like half a year and I realized a reoccuring theme of "missing" things. Faithful readers can attest that throughout the days of this blog, numerous blogs have been written with the central theme of nostalgia. I suppose reading through the lists of things missed by her made me also miss many things of my own. What do I miss you ask (or not ask)? I miss the days when my parents planned big birthday parties for me, and no one would show up but my cousin and closest friends. It was a lot easier to tell who actually liked you and who was just there for the free food. I miss the days when I played CCSA because I loved softball and not because I had to lead but just had to play. I miss good summers spent just chilling with my favourite people. I miss old friends whom I used to be super close with and talk with and see everyday - yet I haven't seen in years now. Those are the people I want to find!! I miss waking up at 9am on Saturday morning to watch cartoons such as Ninja Turtles, Teddy Rupskin, Smoggies and Denver the Last Dinosaur. I miss waking up at 10am during my teen years to watch Saved by the Bell the new new new class, Hang Time, and California Dreams. I miss when I could still understand the words to what they were singing on the radio. I miss snack time at Chinese school when my parents would bring me hot fish and chips as a motivation to not leave at the break. Those were some sweet fish and chips!! I miss staying in on Friday nights to watch TGIF - Boy Meets World and Hanging with Mr. Cooper and Step by Step. In sum, I really miss old friends, simplicity and my old TV shows. posted by jamescl | 1:46 PM
